Amity Indo-China Foundation for Commerce, Science and Technology initiates academic tie-ups with Linyi Normal University, China

Press Release Summary = Amity University has added one more feather to its cap with the launch of Amity Indo- China Foundation for Commerce, Science and Technology and entering into an academic alliance with Linyi Normal University (LNU) by signing an agreement of cooperation for collaborative research and advancement of Commerce, Science and Technology between both Universities.

Chauhan - Founder President, Amity University by Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University; Prof. Raj Singh- Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University and Mr. Xu Tongwen- President, Linyi Normal University, China.
This initiative has been taken by Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan- Founder President, Amity University in his quest to strengthen bonds of friendship and cooperation between India and China, more popularly referred to as "Chindia". Welcoming the alliance, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan said that the collaboration is going to be rewarding for both the universities. The students and faculty exchange programmes will deepen the mutual understanding between the two countries and provide valuable access to scholarly materials and information. He desired that through this Foundation more education institutions from China will collaborate with Amity to hone up intellectual capital of both the countries.
Dr Xu Tongwen, President of Linyi University, China and Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan - Founder President, Amity University appended their signatures to this historic document. Expressing his joy on the tie -up, Mr. Xu Tongwen said that India has lot of potential in terms of education and this cooperation and collaboration will help in utilizing each other's resources to its full. He wished the collaboration to be sustainable and productive. He also extended his invitation to Amity University for participating in a three day "International Conference on Higher Studies" in Linyi University scheduled for August 18, 2007- August 20, 2007.
The mission of AICFCST will be to nurture young motivated scholars of both countries to careers of excellence and leadership in the field of Commerce Science & Technology with the prime objective of utilizing the knowledge of these academicians to promote sustainable development of depleting natural resources in the region which is experiencing birth pangs of rapid development, never witnessed before. The purpose of the Foundation is to bring synergy between Indian and China, for mutual benefit of both the countries for HRD and development of each nation. Knowingly, India and China are emerging as the most powerful nations in the world. Dr Chauhan envisages that China and India would become world superpowers sooner than we think of.
In this bilateral exchange LNU has offered Amity 60 acres of land within their prestigious campus at Shandong which lies geographically 700 kms equidistant between Shanghai and Beijing. A five member delegation from AUUP is visiting LNU in the middle of August 2007 so that the construction can start at the earliest on the offered piece of land. In addition, it is proposed to start a 10 + 2 school in the same campus
Immediate research programs in the area of Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Microbial Science, Plant Disease Management, Global Warming and Ecological Studies, Rural Development and Microfinance would be undertaken with LNU and other Universities / Research Organizations in China.
Amity is teaching Chinese language to a large number of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Amity University. It is foreseen to establish different centers in NCR of Delhi and other campuses of Amity for teaching Chinese as Amity believes that language becomes a most powerful instrument between any two countries.
In addition the activities of Amity World Women Forum (AWWF), Amity World Youth Forum (AWYF) as well as Amity World Economic Forum (AWEF) will be extensively pursued in China.
The other objectives of Amity- Indo- China Foundation for Commerce, Science and Technology are as follows:

Encourage international understanding among future scientists/scholars of the two countries through academic student exchange programs that will challenge students to be creators, inventors, scientists and leaders in their respective fields. . Develop and sustain an interest in the application of S & T to solve issues in business and commerce. . Promote understanding of the significance of Science & Technology, economics, business and commerce and social factors in modern society. . Motivate professionals of both countries to think out of the box to solve problems of rural development of their respective region with a view to spread the gains of development to cover the entire region in an even and equitable manner. . Assist in promoting a trade balance relevant to the needs and potential of the two countries. . Develop and sustain an interest in the application of S & T to solve issues relating to business and commerce. . Organize jointly seminars and workshops in each country in areas of Commerce Science & Technology. . Seek and jointly bid for international funding for Research projects in cutting edge technologies
